As of this writing i have only seen two of this years' Academy Awards Best Picture nominations, one of which happens to be Roger Ebert's prediction.  If Ebert says The Hurt Locker will win, well who am I to argue with the Cyborg King of Cinema Criticism?  My Netflix note for that movie was "Decent war movie, probably deserves 4 out of 5 stars.  But ( Read more... )

Fun, scattered mess of a movie. Would be completely stupid for anyone who didn't think watching The Pogues, Joe Strummer, and the cast and crew of Repo Man playing in the desert sounded worthwhile.

I saw a couple movies this weekend; neither was one I want to write a full review for.  Behind the cut are my Netflix notes, followed by unpolished mini-reviews.

Gladiator (2000) 
Pretty much what I expected; A Masterpiece Theatre episode, but with more limbs being chopped off. Standard 3 1/2 star rating from me.
